The Spiritual Growth Model

Spiritual growth can be confusing, but it doesn’t have to be. In fact, Jesus laid out the blueprint in the Bible.

Based on Matthew 13:18-23, the parable of sower, we created “The Spiritual Growth Model”. This takes the biggest hindrances to your spiritual growth that Jesus outlines in Matthew 13 and narrows it down into six simple, yet powerful everyday practices that you can adopt to spark change.

Time With God Journal was created to follow this model to help you reach new levels of growth in your faith.

HEAR & UNDERSTAND

Hear and understand the Word

“...The seed that fell on the footpath represents those who hear the message about the Kingdom and don’t understand it. Then the evil one comes and snatches away the seed that was planted in their hearts…”

How Time With God Journal helps:

  • Reflection prompts to help you hear what God is saying
  • Space to write down the practical lessons you learn

MEDITATE & ROOT

Meditate on it and let it grow deep roots

“...The seed on the rocky soil represents those who hear the message and immediately receive it with joy. But since they don’t have deep roots, they don’t last long. They fall away as soon as they have problems or are persecuted for believing God’s word…”

How Time With God Journal helps:

  • Turn your bible study into deep meditation of the scripture that leads to lasting change
  • Get practical lessons that you can live out daily

FOCUS

Focus and eliminate distractions

“...The seed that fell among the thorns represents those who hear God’s word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life and the lure of wealth, so no fruit is produced...”

How Time With God Journal helps:

  • Space to capture thoughts that are contary to what God is saying
  • Stay focused with powerful activites designed to fuel your growth

ABIDE

Abide in Christ and bear fruit

“...The seed that fell on good soil represents those who truly hear and understand God’s word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted!”

How Time With God Journal helps:

  • Create a daily habit of spending quality time with the Lord
  • Go back to your entries over time to spot patterns and grow in your confidence in hearing from God
